I've kinda always like the Mazda5 sporty low mini van thing.
I just want to see what Oppo thinks about them.
I absolutly love the rear of the newer ones

We're talkin' some righteous cargo space and clearance back there.
Utility is sexy. +1

Mazda makes really good cars, and if this one has similar characteristics from their other cars, then I approve. It is really good looking from the rear.

I think this car is served well in a brighter color. Takes away from the minivan-like frump, and adds some character and sporting edges to it.
That lilac color, for example, is beautiful.

I have to wonder why the prices are so cheap tho I mean 8gs for a car with 80k is super cheap in today's market. Maybe nobody wants a small mini van with a clutch pedal. but who wants to live in a world where that's true. lol

I had a 5. It was lovely. It's nice to have the option of a stick with sliding doors.
Boy, though. The inside wheel spun in a low speed turn with great ease. I don't know if it's been corrected as of late, but in my 2008 it was very apparent.
They are not big, though. When I had a second kid, I figured out you couldn't lay down a folded double stroller across the back. It had to be angled.

Their loss is our gain I guess haha. If you really need the space and seats I'd think this is the car to get.

Rode in a white one when my family went on a trip a few years back. Super roomy and pretty comfortable.

yeah itsa a compromise vehicle for sure. in my mine it's a happy medium between a Jetta Sport Wagen, and a Honda Odyssey.

I like how the previous gen looks, although not so much the new one. It also comes in Mazdaspeed trim! It's a bit hard to drive in standard if you're tall because of a weird angle to the clutch.

They're pretty good utility cars. I've had nothing but good experiences with them from the rental lot. Don't know if I'd buy one over a mini-van though if I really needed space.

This car is a Mazda3 underneath. We all know how great the Mazda3 is!
I have a couple of friends (with families) driving Mazda5s and they love them.

That seems like a pretty accurate landing spot. I used it as a transition vehicle between a Forester and an Odyssey.

Had one as a service loaner several years ago at the Mazda dealer. I thought it was really kinda cool but also really slow.

My wife drives one. Outside of the craptastic sway bar bushings that are a bitch to get too, it has done everything we've asked it. Put 70k on the mini mini van in about 2.5 years with no issues. Though you get 6 adults in there and it gets really really really gutless, needs a turbo. Good configuration options inside. My only complaint really is that the drivers seat could be a bit deeper on the seat. It's a great option to have if you don't want a full size mini van with their full size price tags.

My mom has an 06 touring model with the autotragic and we've put 148k on her. I had to drive it last winter when I broke my leg and it really suprised me. it gets up and goes better than my Hyundai and can carry all of my buddies. It also handles like a small car. Just be on the lookout for so random electrical gremlins our passenger sliding door sometimes won't unlock and the key access is hit or miss. My dad would buy another in a heartbeat but mom won't let this one go.

I really like the concept and the style of this, but I'll wait until they adapt the Skyactiv tech to it before I give it a serious look.

From the ad:
Transmission:Automatic
Um, pretty sure that there is what we lay people call a stick shift. Also, maybe clean out the snow (or even just let it melt!) from the front floor well before you take the pictures you are using to sell a car ....
I love the 5 though and that is a pretty solid deal. Gas mileage with the 2.5 engine is not great (low 20s). Might also want to look at the 3 too. The 5 is not really that much bigger, but it does have the sliding doors going for it.
